Scrappy Arkansas Crossroads
Join us for a quilt class to make a Scrappy Arkansas Crossroads quilt. This quilt is made with simply alternating two 8” finished blocks. The 16 patch block and the (corner) popped X block. My favorite of the two blocks is the scrappy 16 patch made with 2 ½” strips. I used my scrap bucket to pull fabrics for this bright and cheerful quilt, along with 5” precut solid white squares. You can use a jelly roll and 4 ½” squares cut from yardage, if you prefer – just make sure there is lots of contrast in your fabrics, especially, the fabric you pick for the Xs. This class is super beginner friendly for those of you just getting started on your quilting journey, but can help others perfect their precision, if needed.

| Requirements: | I used fabric strips from my scraps and added 5" precut white squares. You can use a jelly roll and 4 1/2" squares cut from yardage, if you prefer. Just make sure there is lots of contrast in your fabrics, especially, the fabric you pick for the Xs. This class is super beginner friendly for those of you just getting started on your quilting journey, but can help others perfect their precision, if needed. You won't need any specialty tools for this class, Just commonly used tools like a straight edge ruler. I used my 8.5 x12.5 ruler to both cut my strips and trim my blocks. You will need a 1/4" piecing foot. You may want an open toe foot for sewing on a line when popping the corners of the X blocks, but not required. |
